Tree Pollarding

Tree Pollarding is the process of removing the entire crown of the tree, taking it back to the main fork structure.

This process is usually required when you need to rescue the health of a tree, if for example a large section of the tree canopy is deteriorating quickly. By having your trees pollarded, it means that the tree doesn’t have a high canopy to push water and nutrients up to, creating less of a strain on the tree’s roots. Plus, it helps to improve the lifespan of the tree as it keeps it in a partially young state.

Tree Pollarding is also a method used in heavily populated areas to ensure that trees don’t block views or light from certain houses and flats.
